Drew's formal art training began at Cranbrook Academy as a child, continued with a BFA from the University of Michigan and culminated with an MFA from Notre Dame. Studying 20th century artists and the purity of Outsider Art has influenced her colorful, expressionistic style. Many other life experiences have also contributed to her outrageous expressions, including raising children, surviving cancer and penning a successful cartoon series for the Chicago Tribune. Her boldly colored canvases often have provocative sayings scrawled accross them such as "Today...I quit...and tomorrow??? Well, we'll have to see, won't we??" As Drew is fond of saying, "Why have a set of nerves if you don't test them now and then?"

Drew has more than 15 books in print celebrating life, art, and family. Her book titles include, "The Artful Spirit", "Love Letters to Mom", "Be Your Own Angel", "Heirloom Pearls", and "Relax Doll-Face!".
